Mr. Gelbaya's specialist experience in Gynaecology spans more than three. Following his graduation, he completed his postgraduate training in London, from where he went on to join a specialty training program in the Northwest region, and subspecialty training in reproductive medicine at Saint Mary’s Hospital, Manchester.
Today he serves as an NHS consultant gynaecologist and sub-specialist in reproductive medicine at the University Hospitals of Leicester. He specialises in reproductive medicine and surgery including investigations, medical and surgical treatment of sub-fertility. He is an expert in all methods of assisted conception including ovulation induction, IUI, IVF, ICSI, and treatment with donor gametes or embryos. He is also an expert minimal access surgeon and specialises in reproductive surgery and the management of endometriosis.
In addition, He has long experience in the management of menstrual disorders including heavy periods, painful periods, and pelvic pain.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and an accredited subspecialist in reproductive medicine and surgery.
As a BFS accredited trainer, he mentors others in advanced RCOG training modules in Care of Infertile Couples, Assisted Conception, Pelvic Ultrasound for Reproductive Medicine, and Embryo Transfer.
He is a published researcher on many aspects of Gynaecology, Reproductive Medicine, and Surgery, and he has also written several textbook chapters and continues to present at many national and international meetings and conferences.
